Project Summary

The NATURAL POWER LIFE project aims at sustainably replacing hazardous herbicides and biocides with pelargonic acid-based products produced from renewable sources, thus reducing the impact of synthetic herbicides and biocides on the environment.

All three products are produced from vegetable oil, following a standardized process that does not use ozone in the oxidative cleavage reaction of the vegetable oil.

Pelargonic Acid-Based Herbicide

The application of the pelargonic acid-based herbicide for non-crop amenities  and agricultural activities will be executed in Southern and Central Europe.

  • Municipalities

  • Industrial areas

  • Roads

  • Railways

  • Other non-cultivated areas

For Non-Crop Amenities

  • Vegetable crops

  • Grape

  • Potato

  • Orchards

  • Arable crops

For Agricultural Actvities

The project has the following long-term sustainability goals.

Long Term Sustainability Goals

Pelargonic Acid-Based Biocide

The performance of the pelargonic acid-based biocide will be demonstrated to initiate pre-marketing activities and launch its large-scale production.

The Performance

The project aims at sustainably replacing hazardous herbicides and biocides with pelargonic acid-based products

Project
Summary

The project has 6 Work packages, that include project management, evaluation of new biocide formulation, etc.

Work
Packages

The project consortium aims to achieve two key objectives and ensure the successful implementation.

Objectives and
Impact

Goal ONE

To demonstrate the replicability of the product application in different geographical areas and for different applications.

To raise awareness of social and economic opportunities among stakeholders in value chains at all levels (from farmers to municipalities to citizens) and drive the route for the future exploitation of the project results.

Goal THREE

To assess the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of the products.

Goal TWO
